About us

The FiA - the Intercultural Women's and Meeting Center in Konradstr. 62 is a project of the "Soziokulturelles Zentrum Frauenkultur Leipzig".
Frauenkultur Leipzig is an open place for social communication, encounters and exchanges between people - intergenerationally, democratically and participation-orientated. Art and culture are the best means to enable participation in public life for all interested parties.
The cornerstones of the sociocultural work of the Frauenkultur Leipzig have been equality, democracy, tolerance, integration and positioning against racism and discrimination for more than 26 years, whereby the gender-orientated aspect is an important component.
The offers ranges from sociocultural projects, school projects, social pedagogical activities, intercultural open-minded girls' encounters, women's meeting centers in the east, events of all art genres, education seminars and courses.

Frauenkultur Leipzig is the meeting place for a wide range of work Groups: AG Frauenprojekte Leipzig City-country, queer-feminist groups and migrant women of different linguistic areas. Frauenkultur Leipzig stands for a peaceful community of all people, in which every form of nationalism and fundamentalism has no place.
The events at the Sociocultural Center for Women's Culture in Windscheidstr. 51 are open to all people. The intercultural girls' meeting MiO and the Intercultural Women's Center are gender-specific places. They are exclusively open to girls and women.

Why is there the Intercultural Women's and Meeting Center FiA?
Especially women from other cultural areas need opportunities for linguistic and social communication, support and strengthening - as well as necessarily places of (cultural) learning, information and knowledge transfer, also about the labor market situation, gainful employment and necessary professional qualifications.
The best integration is an active participation in public social life through work. Information on employment, work and training opportunities are important pioneering aspects. This affects both women and men alike, with women needing gender-specific support for various reasons (often child-related).
The Intercultural Women's and Meeting Center FiA would like to strengthen and accompany women in these ways. The FiA team especially invites women with a migration background to participate in the FiA offers.
